I met his work in a majestic Catalan floor of the Eixample, in Barcelona. A stunning and optimistic heart hung on a modernist wall as a pop culture representation. Impossible not to notice him. It is about David Kracov´s charm.
Sculptor, painter and animator, the hands of this American artist have also given shape to movies like The Lion King, demonstrating his ability to win the hearts of children and adults.
David was unveiled to the world through a sculpture of hand-painted butterflies, with which he paid tribute to one million children killed in the Holocaust. Since then, Kracov includes a butterfly, visible or non-visible, in all his work made with two purposes: to encourage children and help adults to reconnect with their childhood, through metal sculptures with a strong emotional charge. Definetely, I´m a Kracov fan!
