The designer of tiny women

Madame Carven Today Carmen de Tommaso, Founder of the coveted fashion firm Carven, has left us in Paris at the age of 105. Famous for her comfortable, fresh and colorful clothes for tiny women -she always vindicated the small women in the fashion world because she had meter and a half height-, she patented the push-up, opted for the wasp waist and generous necklines, and popularized in Europe techniques like batik, ethnic motifs and African tunics. Her collections were seen around the world: she imported ideas from Brazil, Egypt and Australia to the haute couture universe. One of her many achievements is called Guillaume Henry, the designer who revived her own brand and that she discovered in a contest.
