Here you have photographs of what you don´t see, of everything that happens at the backstage before every Jesus Peiró fashion show. On the catwalk everything is magic: jewel dresses with reminiscents of the 50s materialize dreams, there are calm steps, eyes straight ahead, gentle movements and blank minds. All that matters is to seduce an audience with exquisite designs. This is the purpose for which Jesús Peiró collections are on the catwalk of the Barcelona Bridal Week each year, after endless hours of sewing and shootings, trips to Paris and an outpouring of illusion that is postulated as the motor of the spanish brand.
The audience sits down expectantly, while the backstage is so excited behind the curtain, in the shape of black and white images. Gaits speed up, the technicians install the only image that preside the fashion show, the lacquer mist impregnates the atmosphere without shame; the make-up artists retouche the models without break, nervous, rushing the last minute that go up the adrenalin of the whole team without setting speed. The desire to go on stage is palpable in the sparkling eyes of Merche and her team, who wait the verdict of the public in the shape of applause and whispers. Everything happens suddenly: the silence makes way for the melody, to mark the rhythm of the fashion show and the heartbeat of Jesús Peiró. Only then, black and white become brilliant colors.
